Dealing with loss and/or trauma
Every single one of us has lost something during this pandemic. For most of us it has involved a loss of liberty, choice, human interaction, activities that have helped us maintain a positive sense of wellbeing, social connection with friends and work colleagues. All the things that contribute to our living a life full of meaning & purpose, and our having a community to belong to. For others it has also involved bereavement, whether from Covid19 or other illnesses, that could not be grieved or marked in the traditional way. Some of us may have been ill ourselves, or witnessed loved ones being taken into intensive care or placed on ventilators.
Any of these losses will impact our Mental Wealth for a period of time and some may be experienced as trauma, which has an even greater impact. Help your employees understand the impact of loss and trauma on their wellbeing and learn how to support themselves as they deal with this as they continue to navigate the ups and downs still to come which may trigger an ongoing ripple effect.
Overcoming adversity & moving into resilience
“What doesn’t kill us can makes us stronger”. During times of adversity and trauma, we have the opportunity to learn and grow through this period, enabling us to foster and build resilience. This workshop based on positive psychology research helps you to think about your own way of moving through challenging times and provide you with tools to flourish long term.
Managing the return to school – for you and your children
Home-schooling has been a much-debated topic across all media channels since late March, and many employees have been challenged with juggling that, their own work, child-care and everything else that the lockdown has impacted. As plans are put in place for a gradual return to school, it is not for every year group, not full time, raises anxiety for some about children carrying the virus back into the home or to vulnerable relatives and is, therefore, still a source of stress for both parents and children alike. This session will share insights and practical tips for how to support your own and your children’s wellbeing during this tricky time.
Positive Mental Wealth replenishment
Enduring many weeks of uncertainty, change and challenge is a recipe for a build-up of stress hormones which impact both our physical and mental health and, in turn, our sense of wellbeing and enjoyment of life. This session shares a range of practical tips for mitigating the effects of long-term stress by boosting so-called ‘Happy Hormones’ and activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps to soothe and relax us out of the stress response.
